Estepona's privileged position between the mountains and sea provides an ideal climate for visitors and residents. Protected from the more extremes of Spain's weather with cooling sea breezes for Estepona's 21 kms of beaches in the summer and the mountains giving protection from winter's cold winds, there are few places with a better all year round weather.
Estepona has resisted some of the more extremes of tourist development and remains to this day a traditional and bustling town with its active fishing fleet and busy town centre shopping streets.
Estepona Life
Estepona Life is mainly aimed at English-speaking residents and visitors to the Municipality of Estepona on Spain's western Costa del Sol, and sets out to be both informative and entertaining. Estepona Life follows in the tradition and style of its sister site Manilva Life which, now in its third year, has been hugely successful and has been adopted by the Manilva Town Hall as the official English language website for Manilva.
Within this ever-growing site can be found facts and figures, useful and interesting articles, as well as listings for many local businesses and services. Estepona Life also includes messages boards, shared with Manilva Life, whose forums provide information, news and general conversation as well as entertainment.
Here you will find information on news, weather, events, property information, sales and rentals, accommodation both hotel, camping and holiday lets, sport and leisure, relocation, entertainment, schools, and bars and restaurants in Estepona.

The Lion of Romblon
The Lions Club Estepona is holding a benefit gala in aid of Romblon, a small island on the Philippines. Almost all the inhabitants of the island eke out a meagre existence in the processing of marble. Every member of the family has to make a contribution. The men chisel out the stone by hand, the women and children spend the whole day grinding and polishing in the dust and dirt in order to be able to afford their next meal. And that is if they even have work. The Philippines, a former Spanish colony, are very poor once you leave the cities and tourist resorts. For example the island of Romblon, which is serviced only once a week by a ferry from Manila. The journey takes more than 12 hours and hardly anyone on the island can afford the crossing. Many families send a child, usually a girl, to Manila, where they work in the hotels or bars, and sometimes even as prostitutes in order to be able to send money home
